SVNM Trust’s selfless, community-oriented aim to free 1 crore patients suffering from eye disorders from blindness and establish a vocational training center to help visually impaired individuals become self-reliant.
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], October 26: To fulfill its commitment to bringing light to the eyes of visually impaired individuals on the sacred land of Supa village in Navsari, and as part of its selfless service under the “Ghar Ghar Drashti” initiative to lead visually impaired people from darkness into light, the Swami Vivekananda Netra Mandir Trust (SVNM Trust) will construct a world-class, state-of-the-art super specialty eye hospital named ‘Drashti Dham’ at a cost of ₹450 crore. To support this world-class, state-of-the-art eye hospital in Western India, a cultural event titled “Ghar Ghar Drashti – From Vision to Service,” featuring lighthearted humor and literature by renowned artist Mayabhai Ahir, has been organized tomorrow at the AUDA Auditorium near Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad. Furthermore, the revered spiritual figure, Param Pujya Shri Morari Bapu, will deliver a ‘Shri Ram Katha’ from December 5 to 13, 2026, at the Swami Vivekananda Netra Mandir campus in Supa Village (Gurukul), Navsari.
Dr. Bhavinbhai Patel, President of SVNM Trust, stated: “In present times, eye problems are increasing rapidly. In response to this, plans are underway to build ‘Drashti Dham’—a state-of-the-art super specialty eye hospital spanning approximately 16 bighas of land in Supa village, Navsari district. It will feature 200 beds, 21 operation theaters, and 64 OPD rooms. ‘Drashti Dham’ will offer specialized treatment from expert doctors for various eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. The hospital will be equipped to perform approximately 1,20,000 surgeries annually, including cataract, retinal, glaucoma, and cornea transplant surgeries, alongside treating every form of incurable eye ailment. Our primary goal is to relieve the pain of every patient suffering from eye diseases and bring a smile back to their faces. The hospital’s main mission is to extend top-tier, highly affordable, or completely free eye care to the most underserved sections of society.”

Dr. Dishantbhai Gandhi, CEO of SVNM Trust, remarked: “At ‘Drashti Dham’ in Supa village, a rehabilitation center will be established for completely visually impaired individuals. It will support people who have lost their eyesight with the everyday challenges they face—providing guidance and training for self-reliance in daily life tasks such as walking, navigating surroundings, using mobile phones and computers, and cooking. Alongside this, educational and employment-oriented vocational training will be offered to help visually impaired individuals become self-reliant. ‘Drashti Dham’ is envisioned as a sanctuary to alleviate the suffering of the underprivileged afflicted with vision problems.”
