Jai Pareek’s ‘Shut Up and Level Up’ Bridges the Soft Skills Gap with a Hinglish Approach

New Delhi [India], April 15: Across India, there are millions of people who work hard every day, stay sincere, and try their best to grow in life. Yet many of them quietly carry one question within themselves:
“Main mehnat kar raha hoon… phir bhi progress kyun nahi ho rahi?”

For many, the issue is not a lack of talent. The real problem is a lack of clarity. People often do not know what exactly they need to improve. Addressing this gap, international Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence coach Jai Pareek has written Shut Up and Level Up – Your Own Soft Skills and Mindset Guide. Published for readers in simple Hinglish (jaise aap ye padh rahe hain), the book aims to make self-development easy to understand, relatable, and practical.

India is full of potential, but access to structured soft skills guidance is still limited for many learners outside metro cities. At the same time, most self-help books are written in English and often do not reflect everyday Indian experiences. Jai Pareek’s book tries to bridge this gap by presenting personal development in a language and style that feels familiar and accessible.

Originally from Kishangarh in Rajasthan, Jai faced similar struggles in his early life. When he moved to Jaipur for his studies, he found himself surrounded by people who seemed more confident and better prepared. That moment made him question himself, but instead of giving up, he decided to work on his skills step by step.

He started small, working in a BPO alongside his studies and doing internships. At the age of 20, he stepped out of India and explored opportunities across the world. A hotel management graduate, he worked with well-known brands like the Taj Group and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

Over the years, he worked in 8 countries, handled 15 different roles, and gained experience across industries like hospitality, media, events, FMCG, finance, marketing, BPO, and education. He also worked at global events such as Formula 1 and international award shows as a celebrity manager.

However, his biggest learning did not come from jobs, but from observing people. He noticed that those who grow faster in life often understand certain soft skills early on – skills like communication, body language, emotional intelligence, decision-making, public speaking, interview skills, leadership, time and stress management, grooming and first impressions, etiquette, storytelling, people management, conflict resolution, resilience, and positive thinking. These skills are rarely taught clearly but quietly shape careers, relationships, and confidence.

This realisation became the foundation of his book. Shut Up and Level Up is written in Hinglish so that readers can connect with it easily. The idea is simple: when someone reads the book, it should feel like it is written especially for them. The book follows a practical structure – each chapter includes a real-life story, the related skill explanation, and a self-assessment exercise to help readers understand where they currently stand and what they need to improve. Overall, the book includes more than 30 real-life stories and over 50 soft skills, supported by simple exercises designed to provide clarity and direction rather than just motivation.

Readers have responded positively, with many sharing that it is one of the few self-development books they were able to complete fully. Some mentioned that specific chapters, especially on interview skills, helped them get their dream job. Others said the language made them feel comfortable and connected while reading.

With more than a decade of professional experience across industries and years of work in training and coaching, Jai Pareek has worked with students, professionals, businessmen, and individuals from different backgrounds, helping them improve confidence, communication, relationships, and mindset.

Beyond the book, he is also building a national mission called “Level Up Bharat,” inspired by the spirit of India’s ancient Gurukul learning tradition. The mission aims to reintroduce essential life skills to modern Indian students in a practical, relatable, and structured way.

According to Jai, one does not need a perfect background to succeed. What matters most is learning the right skills and having the courage to use them consistently.

In today’s fast-changing world, especially with the rise of technology and artificial intelligence, he believes that soft skills like communication, emotional intelligence, and decision-making will remain essential and cannot be replaced.

Shut Up and Level Up is available online and aims to reach anyone who feels stuck, confused, or unsure about their next step in life.  As Jai Pareek puts it simply, the book is for anyone – whether from a small town or a big city – who wants clarity, confidence, and a practical way forward.

The book is available on major online platforms and through Jai’s official website:

Time to LEVEL UP.
