Break the Silence on Sex Education – Book Know Yourself Launched in Ahmedabad, Inspiring Society Towards Scientific Awareness

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 27: Ahmedabad witnessed a meaningful initiative towards creating awareness on sex education as ZCAD Group organized the grand launch of the book “Know Yourself (Sexual Knowledge For You)”, authored by India’s renowned sex education expert Prof. Dr. Bhadrayu Vachhrajani, at the J.B. Auditorium, Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA).

The event was held under the theme “Sex Education: Not Silence”, bringing together eminent experts from the fields of education, medicine, psychology, and counselling to discuss the importance of scientific and value-based sex education in today’s society.

The distinguished panel included Prof. Dr. Bhadrayu Vachhrajani, senior obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Mitali Vasavada, renowned counsellor, therapist and psychologist Rashmi Jha (Surat), and associate professor Dr. Margi Hathi. The session was gracefully anchored by Tejal Vasavada, who led an engaging and insightful discussion.

Addressing the audience, Prof. Dr. Bhadrayu Vachhrajani emphasized that sex education should be treated like any other branch of science. He remarked, “If we can teach children about the digestive and respiratory systems without hesitation, why should we hesitate to explain the reproductive system?”

Having completed India’s first Ph.D. in Sex Education and with over 36 years of educational experience, Dr. Vachhrajani explained that Know Yourself has been specially written to provide scientifically accurate, age-appropriate knowledge for adolescents (13+), youth, parents, teachers and counsellors. The book presents the journey from adolescence to adulthood through simple language, scientific explanations and detailed illustrations, helping readers overcome myths, confusion and misinformation created by social media.
